Blankets for Canada Society

Hello I am so happy to find this site. I have a homeless son, it breaks a person heart to have to see your son live that way, but mental illness does that. If I could make a few quilts during ,my down time I would so love to..right now I am making them for my grandbabies and have learnt the basics and love every minute of it....I live in Alberta and the winters here are bitter cold..sign me up..tell me what to do K8

I have been looking for volunteer work for some time now and while browsing through our local newspaper, I came across an Add for volunteers for " Blankets for Canada" and phoned the representative, who explained the details to me.I went to my first meeting on February 3/2011 and was am***d at what I had learned.I am now a very happy volunteer making blankets for my city for people in need and Country. I believe that you should care for our own families first.

I am a brownie leader in a small town in ontario called Fenelon Falls and I am a brownie leader and I think that this is a great service project for the girls to be invovled with I think we might do this one every year from now on, I love it.

I have been looking for how I can help out close to home instead of the States or overseas. I am now trying to follow the "simple secret" and get my 8 minutes between all the Christmas projects. Thank you all for you time, Katy

I am happy to have a Canadian organization for Canadians. I don't mind helping out overseas, but would prefer to help those in Canada first..The idea of making and giving away blankets is good for both the giver and receiver.......
